A trip to the fever swamps

I have spent the last week arguing stem cell research in the fever swamps otherwise known as Gordon Glantz's Blog, and now I am in need of a Silkwood shower. Check it out here.

The collective argument boils down to this: First, attempt to silence dissenting opinion, either by insult, or by feigned superior intelligence by smarmily reciting DNC talking points as if you thought of them all by your lonesome. Refuse to answer direct challenges, instead claim insult and superior ability to see "all sides" if the issue. Insult, obfuscate, insult and redirect. Finally, when backed into a corner, claim you are sad and disappointed that your valiant and open-minded attempt to reach across the aisle and create reasonable compromise (even though you have offered absolutely no legitimate argument thus far) has failed because your opponent is a neanderthal. Claim victory and wait for other libtards to back you up.

The most priceless bit of the entire exchange was Joe the Nerd's offense taken at his implication that I called him a murderer for supporting the destruction of embryos for research then his later assertion that I am the one that just doesn't understand "basic biology". Laughable.

And speaking of fever swamps, Andrea surfaced today long enough to write into the Herald to tell the world (or at least the greater Norristown area) that I am wrong about Obama's ability to create change in America. As evidence, she proclaims that Obama has accomplished more in his first two months than Bush did in eight years. You know what Andrea? I actually pretty much agree with you on that point.

Where we differ is that I think that Obama's change is unequivocally toxic for America. I never claimed he couldn't accomplish it.
